YPP Ulyanovsk 2013

By invitation of the Russian Urban Planners Association (RUPA) and the International Society of City and Regional Planners (ISOCARP), Gijs Wolfs will coordinate a one week workshop for the YPP Ulyanovsk July 2013.

The Ulyanovsk YPP (Young Planning Professionals) aims to deal with Strategic Urban Design for the region of Ulyanovsk with special focus on the city itself and the strategic urban project within. Young graduates will get more familiar with comprehensive strategic planning and the links between strategic short term interventions and long term visionary perspectives.

On one hand the workshop intents to be a test case for strategic urban planning which could be exemplary for planning initiatives in other Russian cities. On the other hand the workshop may provide for some clues and key factors for successful and sustainable event planning related to FIFA 2018.
